Woods Hole Film Festival
The Woods Hole Film Festival, now in its 19th year, is the oldest independent film festival on Cape Cod and the Islands. The dates of the Festival are July 31 through August 7, 2010. The festival is dedicated to presenting the best independent film from emerging filmmakers. This year's program will include over 100 films from around the world, presented in the quaint village of Woods Hole. Filmmakers and patrons alike come to Woods Hole from around the world to see great films, meet interesting filmmakers and bask in the best of summertime on Cape Cod.
FilmBuff recommends THE UNFORSEEN.
THE UNFORESEEN played at the 2007 Woods Hole Film Festival. Presented by Robert Redford and Terrence Malick and featuring interviews with Redford, Willie Nelson, Texas Governor Ann Richards, environmentalist Wendell Berry and many others, the film is a powerful meditation on the American dream - on the destruction of the natural world as it falls victim to the cannibalizing forces of unchecked development. It is an intricate tale of personal hopes, victories and failures; and of debates over land, water and the public good.
